We have quite a few workers who use Citrix via an ICA Connection.

I am sitting by a laptop and can log in to Citrix as "employee x" with no issues at all however when I try to log in as "employee y" (using the same laptop) it goes through the motions of logging me on then just dumps me back to desktop with no error messages to indicate what the problem is.

I have compared the Active Directory settings for both "employee x" and "employee y" and they appear identical so rather puzzled.

Anyone have any ideas or thoughts?

No one got any thoughts then?

As an update "employee y" can connect to a server running Windows 2003 via RDP however if the same employee tries to connect to the Citrix Server (running Windows 2000 Server) it goes through the motions of logging them on then kicks them back to desktop - again no warning message and nothing showing in events to indicate why.

Hallo Mr. President,

Have you checked the licensing, to see if User Y is in the list of allocated users, or that there is at least one licence free? That said, it should give a message about licensing, if that is the case...

Have they been assigned a desktop? It should be automatic, but it could be a corrupt profile, or the defaults not set properly...

Never mind - solved it :)

There was a "deny rule" at the root of WinNT folder specifically denying that user access - although why I have no idea.

Removed the rule and hey presto their Citrix works fine.
