Yes it seems to be charge as much as they can get away with. Though with the big stars who they sign guaranteed income deals they need to have a high price to recover some of the promised income. I think that they offered Madonna a $100 million over some number of years. That will be tough to recover if they charge only £18 a ticket.

go see indy/less famous people? I went to gigs in bristol for 20£ featuring 3 good acts. For one I much prefer to see a new band giving their best on stage that a band of OAPs ;)

Maybe that is why the tickets are so expensive, it is in direct proportion to the bands medical expenses. :D

Classical music FTW. Almost every concert, you can get tickets at around 10 quid, going up to about 50 quid in London and 35 elsewhere. But then, I suppose you go for the piece rather than the performer, most of the time.

And you still get people claiming those prices are expensive :o
