Okay so my b'day's coming up. Despite me wanting to do absolutely nothing (I kinda grew out of it by the time I was 16), I'm still being pressed as to what I want so family can get presents. So..I'm deciding on watches.
I already have a £2000 swiss watch which I wear at weddings/interviews etc. I have a cheapo £50 smart watch for wearing generally with a shirt.
My last sports watch was discarded a few years ago, so I'm after a new one. Except this time I want one that can tell me the altitude/temp/air pressure/compass etc.
Budget would be to the £300 mark. Any recommendations?

Altitude and pressure, I'd go G-Shock Riseman: They're about £175 SRP and between £125-150 online. Solar powered and atomic synched, plus it's a G-shock, so it'll take a beating. For more functions (including compass) and perhaps slightly less abusability, look at the Casio Pathfinders: I don't know as much about pricing or specifics, but they're between around £150 and £300 depending on feature set and look.

Blummen heck! That last one's big enough to double as a dinner plate as well!

Why do you need a watch that does altitude and pressure?

I think want may be a better word to use than need. Same thing probably goes for your car.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

My dive watch/computer has a digital compass amongst many other functions, although I rarely use it as it is a backup to my primary traditional compass.

Not that it fills your criteria as a sports watch, but for an everyday watch, I love my pocket watch. It slips out of the way, does't irritate my wrist and doesn't interfere when I'm typing.

Okay it's definitely more want than need. I used to fawn over such "hi-tech" or more likely "hi-tech looking" watches as a kid and now I can buy one. I should have mentioned I'm after one with an analogue display in terms of hour/minute hands.
Anyone bought Citizen Eco Drives?

Not sure if it does the altitude stuff but I've always liked these... http://www.seiko.co.uk/products/seiko/c/anantaI currently have 3 of the Arctura range (different ages/models/etc...). I'd really like an Ananta though.

I bought a watch today. I've been without for around 7 years and finally found one I like at a price I like even more.
Now I just need to get used to wearing one again, and fortunately it's titanium so not too heavy.
