Hi
I'm just back from a friend's wedding in Florida. The father of the bride want's to set up some sort of picture site/blog where anyone who was there can upload their pix from the wedding to share with everyone else. Ideally this would be a free site, we did look at Flick but the storage space for free is too limited.
So over to you lot, what kind of way can we do this(preferably not FaceBook)? All ideas welcome!
Thanks in advance.

try a hotmail account which has skydrive and lets you have 25GB of free space ... http://www.windowslive.co.uk/skydrive

Thanks Steven, that was the bride's father's default option. I thought it would be nice to have something a bit more dedicated, also we had some concerns over the person hosting the skydrive, doesn't it share other personal info too, like friends lists etc.

it would depend how the skydrive access is setup but its about the best free option available that can be used on any system anywhere or you could look at google sites ... https://www.google.com/accounts/Service ... =true&ul=1

Wordpress Joomla Drupal
All support such features (wordpress even has a buddypress pluging that enables you to create a private social network for such a thing)

You can still upload a fair number of pictures on a free flickr account, can't you? Everyone who was there and wants to submit photos has/gets an account, and adds them to a group pool?

I alone have over 300 photos from the event, we were there for over a week so there are lots of pre and post events too!

So create more than one account. As long as they get online and in the group what does it matter? It's the group that'll be getting seen. Mark

200 images remain in your photostream. They're still up there, though, and I believe they remain visible in any groups you put them in. The bandwidth limit could be an issue, but what res do you really need?
