I'm in need of some DVDs to watch over the next few weeks.
I already have lots of comedies and westerns, but not enough in the way of "hi-tech" action. I'm after something in the theme of Bourne Trilogy/Batman type films.
Any recommendations?
I've got Iron Man 1&2 on my list as I've not seen these but what else?

I had a look at Wikipedia's list of Action Movies and the only two that I've seen relatively recently that I'd recommend are:

Horror, but The Crazies wasn't bad. Predators was average, so was A-Team and The Losers...
+1 for Wanted

Really enjoyed Sherlock Holmes, I thought Wanted was crap however. I like the new Star Trek, if you haven't seen that yet. The Hurt Locker is also one of the best DVDs available. Is Inception out yet? I quite liked it. Don't under any circumstances watch The Lovely Bones, that was painful.

Seen Sherlock Holmes. A bit appalled by it since at the time, I had almost worked my way through the entire Holmes collection by Arthur Conan Doyle. Having said that, ignoring most of its published background, it was an enjoyable romp.
Have also watched Star Trek. Did enjoy it.
I want something hi-tech though. Gadgets, guns, that kind of thing.

MI:III? Ernie will hate me, but if you just want a tech and action, Terminator Salvation works X-Men trilogy? Inside Man? Hostage? Taken? Jumper?

Can't stand Tom Cruise hence no M:I for me.
Not just tech and action but also maybe some kind of spy type stuff. You'd think with all of the computing power and storage we have, we should be able to select say two or three things that appeal and draw up a list of suitable films from a super database! Want something with midgets and sex scenes? Pick this. Want something with planes and comedy? Pick that.
Gah. Basically loved BB/TDK and the bourne identity stuff and want more. Even liked AI and Enemy of the State but seen them too many times to care anymore.

Daft question ; Have you seen the Daniel Craig Casino Royale? If not , try that. Avoid Quantum of Solace like the plague though. OK first ten minutes, rest of it was about the worst film I've seen in ages.

Seen xmen trilogy and CR. Was fun too plus had hotties.
There's got to be some more films that suit what I'm after.

OK it's simialr to Nightwatch in tone, totally silly, surprisingly enjoyable but I really can't think of many films fitting the bill recently: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0465580/

I quite like it. YMMV. It's not as bad as everyone says, IMHO.

If you liked the Bourne's then Green Zone isn't bad. Terminator Salvation gets my vote too. A bit older but there's also Die Hard 4, Hitman and Surrogates...

Yeah I thought Green Zone was watchable, falls apart a bit at the end, and I'm really over shaky cam, but I'll second that if you like Bourne.

Quite. Just don't view it as a Bond. It's actually a great movie. The guy comes completely unhinged. In many ways, it's comparable to the journey that the Bat goes through in Dark Knight.
