It is, it seems, a cyclical problem. Both men and women are prepared to put up with sub-standard behaviour from the opposite sex and the longer it goes unchallenged, the worse it gets for those of us who actually give a [LIFTED]. If men had more self-respect and wouldn't simply do anything to get a woman's attention and approval, they might put up with less [LIFTED] and thereby create an anthropological/socio-evolutionary preference for authentic, non-[LIFTED] behaviour.

Of course, I'm living in a dream world as per.

It might be 'dreaming', but there's nothing wrong with your thinking - there's a bloke in work who was talking about earning 'brownie points', and all the other marrieds were sitting there nodding... It basically comes down to keeping the peace for a quiet life, not even realising that it becomes a behavioural habit for both if allowed to fester.

He's maybe a bad example these days  , but Mr Fry once said something along the lines of 'Nobody does mental torture like women'. I think there's a lot of truth to that, but only if you let it happen... Or tolerate it.

My mate's missus will sit there watching 4 hours of recorded Come Dine With Me, then get the sulky head on just cos my mate wants to play the PS3! Even more childishly, she'll phone her mum and then deliberately sit right beside him for two hours talking really loudly. It's gotten that bad now that he waits until she's gone out, or I'll get a text asking if I'm still awake for online

Have we had a "How poo was your 2010" thread?
I thought we had but I can't find it.
If we haven't I'll create one.

That's exactly the kind of behaviour I'm talking about. What exactly is the point in allowing things to get that bad? If you don't get on, just break up ffs. Find somebody who will actually challenge you and allow you to challenge them. Less bs in the world can only be a good thing.

Thought so, but couldn't find it - I went through the first 10 pages of search results before giving up looking.
I just created my very own thread.

It's only a time for sharing if one has people to share with.

I empathise.

Looks like it's going to be fun trying to get back to home-home tonight. I may go back via Satan's Station as, somewhat scarily, things seem to be flowing more easily that way. I bet I'll spend a good few hours sat on the platform, mind. I always do.

And it seems I forgot to mention in my FPotD thread that it's my last day (again) at work. I'm going to miss the money, but having a bit more time will certainly help my studies.

Today I've ordered a book on an undercover Hell's Angels agent, Deadpool Vol. 1, a wireless laptop speaker and a Batman logo hoodie (hoody?) :D

I'm not convinced I'll be able to get home tonight. Meh.

<eddit>Decided to stay down here tonight, and probably spend tomorrow twiddling my thumbs since I've a hospital appointment down here on Weds morning. Does mean I'll have to get some work done this weekend, and I'm busy on Boxing day...</eddit>

Well I feel absolutely retched today, been feeling dizzy, hot with cold sweats, phlegmy cough and runny nose

I thought I was all over this this weekend, this is really putting a downer on my festive plans with the illness and all (meant to be at my gfs tomorrow after work for a meal to celebrate her new job)

That is why I rip them so they are not played that often.
