Oh the shame of having an AA van on the drive. Stupid dead battery. Still I suppose 110k miles is okay for a life span.

Got to give credit to the Toyota dealer in Derby.
I turned up today with a car with a duff battery without warning. They fitted me in, order in the battery on same day delivery, fixed it, and gave the car a wash too.
Not a bad price either.

I replaced the battery in my Focus a few weeks ago. I don't have AA Homestart or whatever it's called, so couldn't call them out or otherwise I would have.

In the end, my boss (as in the guy who owns the company) went to Halfrauds and brought me a replacement. My god are they expensive or what! I found a better battery on-line for half the price including next day delivery, and that's a heavy item to post! Unfortunately we couldn't wait two days.

Anyway, that was a win for me because I didn't have to pay for it :D

A few weeks ago I posted in the Something New Thread that some twunt was stealing my bandwidth. I changed some file names and broke a couple of links and settled down to see how things would proceed. Well...

Image

The blue line is the stolen bandwidth compared to the green line which is my avatar usage on these forums.

Isn't that a lovely graph? 8-)

Erm... not to my knowledge.

Why so?

I'm looking at these forums on my phone. It must be that, as anything past the November data point is missing.

I get that on my iPhone too - cuts off the right hand section. Very annoying when someone posts a hot bird up and they're decapitated!

It works fine on Opera, but I also get truncation if I use the default Interwebs app thingy on the 'droid.

I wonder if it's a forum setting for when it detects a mobile browser, ie it sets the columns narrower. It didn't seem to notice that Opera was mobile because I didn't get the advert for that forum app come up and the column is the full width.

A bit late but on new years eve we got Broadband, cable tv and telephone installed. Guys turned up at 8am to do it but found that the council had dmaged the cable to the flat. So it was looking at a fail but they were on the phone and less than an hour later another van turned up and repaired the cable andwithin 15 minutes all was working. Also we were informed as soon as VM roll out their 100Meg BB we would get an auto upgrade to 50Meg :D

I think I've just sorted out a refund on some train tickets. And it seems LinkedIn has got its arse in gear.

Moved my iTunes folder to a new drive because the old drive started ejecting at random. Well managed to find out where the stuttering iTunes problem seems to be. It seems to be in the firewire controllers on the iMac. The same drive on my old macbook pro has minimal skips whereas on the iMac it is for a good few seconds. So now listening to various tracks via VLC and Airfoil around the house.

And having a busy time reorganising manually 600 Gb of music. Though with VLC/Airfoil it is not a problem.
