Best of luck.

Aye, best of luck bobs.

I, on the other hand, will be voluntary redundant on 1st April. Quite apt. :D

Morning Everyone,

What have I missed? Hope everyone's ok.

My news consists of the very good - the treatment I had last August reduced my brain lump by 75% according to the scan I had last month and I am now on prescription caffeine. Also the very bad - I'm not far off breaking point (emotionally and mentally) at my workload and the stress I'm under at work, with no real solution available at the moment.

ION I have giant chocolate buttons.

Welcome back and heres hoping the news about your health gets better and better :D
yoou havent missed much, just the usual.

Agreed, and let me just add that no job in the world is worth risking your health over, so do what you can and don't worry about the rest.

Wise words from a wise man

Oh and welcome back!

Thanks Guys, I've missed the range of witty banter and random bullsh!t that I used to enjoy.

J_V I'm hoping there might be an end in sight to the job stress, but then I've been hoping that for the last 6 months! I think bursting into tears at my boss might have helped her understanding of my problem and she's one of the good guys so hopefully that will speed things up.

Looking forward to wading back into the deep end around here *rolls up sleeves and dons flak jacket*

Tuesday:

Mrs. B and I had to go to the German Embassy in London to declare her new married surname so that she can apply for another passport. We got up very early and had a lovely train ride to Euston. We then went on the tube to Hyde Park Corner (the embassy is on Belgrave Square). I was expecting the process to take ages but it only took 20 minutes. So then we were in London with lovely weather and 5 hours to burn. So I managed to cross the following off my list of things I've always wanted to see:

  • Belgrave Square
  • Hyde Park
  • Wellington Monument
  • Memorial Gate
  • Constitution Hill
  • Buckingham Palace
  • Victoria Memorial
  • Canada, Australia and S. Africa Gates
  • The Mall
  • Clarence House & St. James' Palace
  • St. James' Park
  • Horse Guards & the Old Admiralty
  • Whitehall
  • Earl Haig's Memorial - *spit*
  • The Cenotaph
  • Downing Street
  • Parliament Square
  • Supreme Court
  • Westminster Abbey
  • Palace of Westminster
  • College Green
  • Lambeth Palace

We had lunch on a bench in the Victoria Tower Gardens overlooking the Thames. We then made our way back up to Euston where we met up with my brother. We then went home for tea which was bratwurst & chips. We then had an "early night" ;)

Wednesday:

We continued where we left off the previous evening ;)

It was a wonderful, romantic and laughter-filled 24 hours during which I saw things I've wanted to see for decades and I shared it with the woman I love. It was perfect.

Last night at approximately 02:01 (I know, technically that's this morning) I placed my order for a 64 GB, Wi-Fi only, black iPad 2.
I'd been trying for an hour, and for that hour all I could get from Apple's online Store was this and this whenever I submitted the order.
Still, order confirmation e-mail arrived with me at 02:31 today. In it it says :
Dispatched: 15 Apr, 2011
Delivers 25 Apr, 2011
I guess I'll wait and see if those dates change.

Mark

I bought an identical iPad 2 (64Gb wifi only in black) and engraved. Mine will be sent the same day but arrive a day later.

Oh and I had plenty of those error messages as well.

That sounds about right and fairly typical.
Mine is mostly red, the tectonic plates are pulling apart from stress and I can't keep track of my nuclear explosions at the moment. Not long until a meltdown I reckon!

I don't think the commute will be feasible, added to which I don't have the qualifications. :(
