Could be second to third for me but I haven't pushed my car that far yet, I know I can do 70 in third though

I really hate iTunes. I guess it only works if you're an Apple fanboy.

if you can do 60 in 2nd, you should be able to get 90 in third easily enough.

Pretty much every car I've driven has revved out at the same speeds:

1st - 30mph
2nd - 50mph
3rd - 70mph

With 4th and above it wasn't revs that were the limit, but power. Generally, it's faster than I've actually tried. Needless to say, I've never driven any really "sporty" cars.

The 'sportier' cars tend to rev up to 7k rpm, so that gives you a bit extra.

Anyone else finding that this thread crashes TapaTalk? I have to log on on my computer to view and comment on it!

Most cars are going to be limited in 1st gear - it's really meant to be for setting off, so you can't expect much from it. I'd imagine 30mph to be the max in most cars. 2nd gear is similarly limited but you can get to 7000rpm. TBH most drivers will go into 3rd and 4th gears, where you have a long drive (I think, I forget most of these terms) and hence can go faster. I've hit 90mph in third.

I think - and I'll have to test it tomorrow to confirm - that I can hit 70 in 2nd

I have 4 gears - well 3 and overdrive.
I have no idea about what goes where on the scale of things. But it will rev to 7.5k.
