Good news.

I hope you haven't resorted to drinking your own piss in order to get the label 'golden boy'.

God damn it!
If you send me a delivery ticket, put the correct prices on it the first time.
And if I point out that I think they're wrong, don't change them to another wrong number, change them to the right one!

Third time lucky? I'll have to wait and see.

Turns out clergymen are a big bunch of liars.
(And I'm not just talking about when they say "I'm not a kiddie fiddler".)

Tropical isn't quite correct, but the jealousy is unaffected.

Car insurance up over 1/2 to nearly a grand for my renewal quote this year

WTF!?!?!

Yep, £600 last year TPFT in a lump sum, no claims against mine (she accepted liability for her accident so claimed from hers) and a lovely £300+ increase

Renewal price (without the change of address to a less nice area (from rural northumberland)) put it up to £900
Setting it fully comp and the new address and it's over a grand, going to make sure everything is spot on, tweak the job title etc and see how it goes

My insurer did that to me this year - the renewal invitation put 50% on the premium - they are are banking on people being too busy/lazy to check out the renewal premium. I gave them the chance to re-price it, but they didn't bother so I went elsewhere and got it cheaper than last year. Surprise, surprise, they contacted me after I switched and asked if they could requote me. Too late matey, you just lost a customer.

If my renewal is a stupid price I dont give them chance to requote. The first contact they get from me is to cancel. The way I figure it if they wanted to keep my business they wouldn't quote so bloody high in the first place. The last five years I've changed insurer every single year.

We must be lucky then, both house and car insurance seems to be about the same as last year sticking with the same insurers.

My renewal last Autumn was slightly cheaper, but I did have to switch insurer to get that price drop.
I was with Direct Line, now I'm with Hastings Direct.

I hate directline.

Anyway, a day that started off bad ended up pretty good. A true once-in-blue-moon occurence for me as either a day can start good and stay good/turn bad, or a start with a bad day and it stays bad.

Had a very productive day, almost no contingency needed :)

Similar story with my home insurance. It was creeping up over about 3 years, but the last rise was taking the proverbial. I got a quote from a well known comparison site, called them up to see if they would match it.

They didn't - not even close. Their quote was about £500, argued down to £300. I paid about £75 in the end

I strongly suspect I'll have to do the same next year...

My insurance dropped when I moved because it is based on rooms. It will be hard to move insurers when it comes for renewal as it is unlimited and based on rooms. My contents are worth considerably more than the top limit most insurers allow. I would have to go to a specialist insurer otherwise.

Ebuyer dispatch email received at quarter to 9, got it less than 3 hours later

Not bad for a super saver order 2 days ago :D
