Had to look up the word “suit”. I have never owned one - and I plan never to, unless it has the word “space” at the start. :D
I was discussing this the other evening with someone. I came to the realisation that it's not the suit I don't like, it's the formality of a shirt and tie.
Suits, it turns out, I actually don't mind.

Suit + shirt but no tie can work very well under certain circumstances 8-) .

I’d agree with the formality of shirt and tie. Last time I wore one was for my first round of job interviews after leaving school. Never worn one since. I’ve usually found things that dodge the “rules”.

Never, ever been invited to or been to anything that has dress codes like “black tie” etc..

Managed to pick up a Ted Baker suit at a very good price, was going to get an Aquascutum as it was only a little bit more than the £200 on the TB one but it was a little too short on the sleeve and felt a little too formal and heavy for a basic 2 season suit

+1 to that as well - one of my first suits came from Slaters in Glasgow. Didn't quite fit, so they adjusted the sleeves for free.

My suit came from Tesco. Only worn it twice. I think it was about £30 - yes, they do a "value" range

If the man wearing the suit is a "normal" size and shaped person, then an off-the-Rack suit will be fine. Otherwise look for places that have a wide variety of styles and shapes and also does alterations so you can get one that fits right.

+1 for slaters

Also look at places that allow mix and match jackets with trousers.

Guys where's the best place to get a reasonably priced men's suit? Been looking at Burton's who seem very reasonable but any input much appreciated.

Thanks

C

Asda for the really cheap (but still okay).
M&S for reasonably priced.

Yup, if it is a funeral suit. ADSA.

If it is going to get some wear, M&S. M&S do several ranges all pretty good.

:-)

I actually got my suit from my local men's outfitters. Fairly traditional and boring, but decent quality. As I only ever wear it for funerals and the odd wedding that doesn't require a morning suit it's perfect.
