Booked a stay here for next week http://www.thewoldsretreat.co.uk/

Not only were they very accommodating (regarding Emily) but amazingly helpful via email, squeezed us in when the website said they were full and now emailed me this morning to say they're giving us the larger room.

Now that's customer service!!

Security guard blasts off his own finger with a shotgun while trying to remove a wart.

Quote:
He said he drank several pints of beer to build up his courage before carrying out the operation outside the caravan where he was living at the time.
He stretched out his left hand, pointing the end of the barrel at an angle to the offending wart, and used his other hand to hold the stock steady and pull the trigger.
But he was unable to hold the weapon firmly when it recoiled and pellets took off most of his finger.
'I didn't expect to lose my finger as well when I shot it but the gun recoiled and that was it,' Murphy said.

More here.

:)

I'm now the proud owner of a Synology DS211J and a 2TB Western Digital hard drive to go in it. :P
No more switching between PC's to find the files I want.

I'd be interested in your thoughts, once you've set it up and had a play. I know it's had great reviews, but it's nice to get the opinion of someone who has shelled out their own hard earned for it.

So far it's going well. I've not looked into all the advanced stiff like iTunes server or file access from the internet yet. But as far as getting folders to be mapped to drive letters on all my PC's laptops etc, it's working fine. I had to read the instructions, but I won't jold that against it ;)
I did have a heart attack at the day and a bit quoted to transfer all my files onto it. But after posting on a few forums I found out that was the limitation of my wifi network, not the DS211J. If I'd used a CAT5 cable it would have been much quicker.
Noise wise, I have it set to quiet mode and I can't hear it in my living room. The only time I could was when it was running a check on the HDD when I first installed it.

I'll let you know more when I try iTunes etc in a few weeks.

Forgot to mention - cheers for the update Lev.

Not exactly from the deep end of the gene pool, is he?

It's a shame the wart wasn't on his nose.

Very cool.

Anybody else gonna try to watch the eclipse tonight? I should be in a relatively sweet position what with Africa only being 120km away and clear skies, but I have to be at the airport this evening, so we'll see...

Saw a car with the reg ** GAY.

Why anyone would advertise their sexuality in this area of Brum is beyond me. Round here that kind of stuff would result with the car being torched and the driver being brutally attacked.

Didn't know ** were legal on a plate...
Perhaps Gay is the owner's name?
