http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-13963473I have to say I do say they have a small point in their favour about how they are marketed. the term "Upto" is so abused. Though I have been with Vermin Cable and have switched to Sky Unlimited ADSL. Both were 20 Mbit services and while Sky is around 14Mbits I am delighted with the service. I have only had a couple of outages and only for a few hours. I had long outages with Vermin when there was a problem. Add in the fact that I am not throttled means that I can stream TV whenever I want, rather than having to move iPlayer outside peak hours.

Once again, can't fault the service from VM here in the Capital. I'll never go back to DSL for as long as Cable is available to me.

Oh dear, me too. I kind of read: "Virgin raped in broad band chains" which didn't sound nice

I regularly get 10mb on speed tests and I pay for the 10mb service. I can't moan at that. I can see me renewing with Virgin and not going back to BT.

Sky should be castigated. On my bundled exchange it's woeful. Rarely over 100k/sec, though I had over 800 once for about five minutes.

How far are you from the exchange? Any provider could have problems until cable or optical fibre gets to the exchange.

I have had a couple of breaks in the service but only for an hour at most. For me I get a 14 Mbits connection all the time.

To be fair, Sky have a good rep on their own network, but I'm on a non LLU exchange.

So that is a bigger factor than Sky. I suspect that you would have problems who ever you are with.

Probably anybody other than BT, but I can't bring myself to hand them any money and they're more expensive.

I have to agree. I switched to Auracall for my call deal and line rental, with Sky Unlimited for Broadband. It all works well. Low bills and free 0845 and 0870 numbers and free to 39 countries as well.
