Well expect the Tories to bring in legislation to stop an English Spring breaking out and kicking them to the curb.

There's a few maps online of exactly where there was unrest. Google's version might be the most refined.

There's a volcano on Chelsea exactly where I was a few days ago. I saw no signs of destruction, but maybe they'd tidied up by then.

They must have got the servants out to clear that eruption up.

Yes both Leaders have not been very good in this crisis. This sums it up perfectly.

I already hash-tagged it as EnglishAutumn on Twitter... With the localised impact and over reaction of the press, maybe it is more apt than I thought, a bit of a damp squib?

Actually, 'damp squib' is the perfect description of your typical English summer, surely?

I do not see it as a revolution just yet. The riots after the first night were all criminal acts of acquisition.

Though with the 4 year terms for the inciting a riot handed out yesterday I see problems for the Kaiser Chiefs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hamKl-su8PE&ob=av2e

When they eventually found Milliband (who was probably hiding while looking up words in a thesaurus), he seemed completely ineffective. He mulled some stuff, but what he said has completely failed to stick in my memory. He’s a total failure as a political leader, and his ineptitude has been compounded by his failure to grasp the initiative by the balls and do something memorable. Instead, he handed Cameron the freedom to say and do pretty much anything. When you consider that Cameron took a few days to return from holiday (a good eager drops everything and is there, because it’s what the people expect to see to happen at times of crisis), and really failed to do much, other than a lot of Daily Mail friendly hand wringing and issue some nice headline friendly quotes, he made himself an easy target for some criticism and accusations of being slow to react, dithering, and all the phrases that are trotted out.

Nick Clegg at least was on the streets, soaking up the bile from the residents whose homes and businesses were destroyed, so points to him, but he seemed to be paralysed. Watching those three bimble around the situation is like watching the Three Stooges, but with the jokes taken away.

Regardless, the joke is definitely on us.
