As far as I'm concerned this is what's making me lose patience with the show. It feels as though the writing focus is more on the loose ends that can be cleverly tied up in the final episode than on the story itself. It's just too unsubtle and (in my case) I find it pushes me out of the story. Perhaps (probably) it's just me but everyone I talk to about Doctor Who mentions the same thing. It was much more carefully done in the Ecclestone/Tennant days IMO.

I must confess I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'd assumed that Hitler would play no more part in the series... I haven't see anything to change my mind.

For what it's worth I actually enjoyed this episode, and I was talking to Mrs. V about this, and we are both liking how Rory is startng to "man up" a bit.

I still don't like the theme tune though.

This version of it is rubbish, that's true.

Just to clarify, that is what I meant... this version.

Okay, it moved at a bit of a brisk pace, but I've found that to be true of this show since the 2005 reboot. There's always plot holes, but then that's what suspension of disbelief is all about.

I thought it was a great episode. loads of loose ends all over the place to answer in following episodes.

I thought it was a fairly cool story with a cool robot. The Hitler thing was very typical of the "re-boot" attitude, i.e. "we can do anything we want - lets have fun with this!".

Most importantly, the exposition was coherent and satisfying. They've left enough questions while still answering so many that I'm going to take a week to digest it all. That's a great balance to the first episode after the summer break.

Have to say, in my eyes Mel was hotter than River... but I liked her attitude when she suddenly grew up. Her new mind is sexier. The teeth comment made me chuckle, even although it was a cheap joke.

Hitler never comes out of the closet. I'm positive of this.

Seriously though, history has not been changed from our version - this is just an insignificant added detail and the Hitler story is over now. They're obviously playing on the very real but failed assassination attempts, and Mel's comment in school was kinda funny considering the unfolding plot :D

Poor old Amy gets left behind rather a lot. She was pretty cool in "Samurai mode" though, and I really liked the disarmed Rory-bot she kept as a pet - on several levels.

I don't recall a "reality compensator" being a part of the TARDIS before. I cringed when he said it, but perhaps he was just making stuff up to convince people to get moving. I was reminded of the 7 Doctors episode. I guess that was different though, with him 100% time lord. I've not watched it for a very long time, so I'm not sure what the reasoning was to allow them all in the same place at the same time.

I missed the first 15-30min so didn't have a full idea of the story (came in when the hand-bots first tried to capture Amy), but i thought it was rather excellent.

As for the "reality compensator", i thought it might have been the basis for when the Master converted the Tardis to be a "Paradox Machine" in the Martha Jones season to support the Toclafane's presence in the current world.

Bitchin' an' moanin' about a measly 38 years, when Rory had to wait 2,000. (8+D

Seeing as the Master managed to configure the TARDIS to allow the paradoxical existence of the entire surviving human race to exist in its own past I fail to see how it would be unable to cope with two versions of the same person.

Still, a very enjoyable episode none the less.

But in fairness, that was because he had kinda killed her to begin with :P

Did he sonic something wooden in tonight's episode?
The previous Doctor incarnation stated he didn't like apples.
Is this Doctor the real Doctor?
