I'm sorta thinking the same thing. The internet has many adult themed corners, and if I'm to stand a chance of getting this site unblocked at work...

Actually that's something I hadn't considered.
I can access this site at work but if there was a T&A section, would the whole forum be restricted/filtered based on content? Would there be a way I could access the NSFW section at home but not at work?
What about leaving the section hidden by default irrespective of whether you were logged in or not, and then having to click something to make it visible (provided you had opted in)?

cloaked_wolf : Happy? or considering it's very easy to find this content in other parts of the web, do we need it here?

Did you really need to quote my entire post?
The point is that like-minded people come to share thoughts, some of which may include NSFW stuff. I think the way the "redheads" and "celebs" threads have been, some Posts I would already consider NSFW. Hence figured it might be better to post it all in a nsfw section.
Feck it, I can still access this site on my piephone so not too worried about work access.

I voted no.
When I want news I go to a news site, etc......
P.S. I visit plenty of NSFW sites.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I voted "No" purely based on the wording of the question: "Do you want a NSFW/Anything goes forum?"
Whilst I've got no problem with those who do want it, it's not something I particularly want on here - as others have said, there are plenty of other places online to find whatever floats yer boat!
However, if the wording had been "Would you object to a NSFW/Anything goes forum?" I would still have voted "No", but it would have meant the opposite... er, if you see what I mean? It's all in the wording of the question!

I really don't think it suits X404 and I voted No. If you want a NSFW forum, then join mine. Half of you are members already from years ago - you just probably forgot Note that registration is a manual process, so PM me here and allow me 24 hours to set you up. You can't see the NSFKW section unless you are signed in and I believe you are old enough. You may have to request access. It is not visible to guests. There is also a "private area" for non-adult topics which is also hidden from public gaze. http://forum.yourwired.net/There are rules though. Specifically, please not too much good grammar in the T&A section. Proper English is acceptable in the public areas. Oh, and sensible signatures are frowned upon.

Interesting points.
All these points (along with the votes etc) will be considered.
As with almost all decisions about the site it's based on what the forumites want as a whole. It's not the Xfactor so it isn't based solely on the public vote, votes on things like this are used as an "easy metric" for finding unanimous verdicts on ideas, as this one is anything but unanimous, it goes down to the "judges vote" (which may or may not include a spot of market research down the pub)

An interesting democratic process.

I'm following the US Election process. Everyone votes. If the answer isn't the one that is selected the votes are "lost" in a car boot and we do what we want. Actually the idea on a tied forum would be to consult with various outside parties the submit the results to mods & admins then to the community. Far too overly complicated for most things but it's fair.

I should have underlined the drinks down the pub part.

Depends whether it's first past the post or not, Yes has the plurality but not a majority vote.

I'm not averse to their being a dedicated NSFW section it's just not what I come to this forum for so I voted pie.
