Hi all, Could you poss click on my link... www.oliverfoggin.com and see how slow the site is? It seems to take ages to load for me but I'm not sure if it's because I'm at work? Thanks!

It doesn't seem too too bad to me on my university's connection. It's getting 88% on PageSpeed online, and a B on YSlow, so that's not too bad.

It's quicker than this site often is It's taking about 4 seconds for any page to load. I'd guess it's CPU bound. Is it on a shared server?

Thanks all.
My host at the moment is GoDaddy so not sure if it could be them? I'm on a cheapo WordPress hosting package so I wouldn't be surprised if the main cause is the server it is sitting on.
Thinking of switching to a different host (had a look at the one from Yorkshire that Heather mentioned).
It would also hopefully simplify the whole system. GoDaddy seems to have a ridiculously complicated system of menus etc...
Half of me thinks I should just stick with it though.

Took about 30 seconds for the title of the site to appear in the browser. Another 10 or so for the content to appear on the page.

Can't really quantify it due to my location, but as a comparison to other sites it was definitely slow.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

OK, I think I've found the probem... http://www.domaintools.com/research/reverse-ip/Search for x404.co.uk on there and then oliverfoggin.com. x404 shares with around 500 other sites. Mine shares with about 7000 other sites. No wonder it's cripplingly slow. WTF are they thinking? Well, I've got a new task... move to a different host.

I'm using free hosting. Apparently there are 28 websites sharing with me, and I've commented before that it's much faster than the paid hosting I used to use in London...
