MCV Says they'll be in administration in two weeks, unless a saviour is found.

This in today:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17336697

Quote:
Struggling video games retailer Game Group has confirmed that a number of its suppliers are now refusing to do business with the company, sending its shares down 77%.

Game said it was "working actively to resolve these issues as quickly as possible", but that it was unsure if its efforts would be successful.

The branch in town was full, as usual.

I bought SSX for the XBox from Game the other week.

I went in and the price was £29.99 (I think).

Had a look online and the prices were similar (to within a couple of pounds) so I bought it. Normally online will be £10 cheaper than in store so was slightly surprised.

Game groups shares are down below 1P this morning. It's only a matter of time before trading gets suspended. Mass Effect 3 managed higher first week sales than the previous two games in the series combined, and that's without Game/Gamestation having any stock.

They're increasingly irrelevant, and increasingly doomed. I feel sorry for all the shop staff who will end up out of a job given the current situation but I won't miss Game as a shop at all.

It’s back up. They need to see how much Sainsbury’s is selling the Vita for.

LONDON, March 12 (Reuters) - Struggling British video games retailer Game, denied new titles by suppliers, has put itself up for sale and warned shareholders their equity in the firm could be worthless.

"We suspect that any potential suitor would prefer to wait for a formal administration process. Through a pre-pack the suitor would have much greater flexibility around store liabilities," said Singer Capital Markets analyst Mark Photiades.

He advised investors to sell now rather than face losing out to a potential administration. ($1 = 0.6372 British pounds)

That's an interesting way of rephrasing "Will only have to pay a load of people a fraction of their redundancy money when they all lose their jobs".

Game Group hit as some suppliers refuse to do business

Struggling video games retailer Game Group has confirmed that a number of its suppliers are now refusing to do business with the company, sending its shares down 68%.

Game said that while it was trying to resolve the matter "as quickly as possible", it was unsure if its efforts would be successful.

Some analysts say Game may fail to pay a quarterly rent bill later this month.

This increases the possibility of the company going into administration.

It's been suggested in the FT that they have funds for three more weeks. The amount of people I've told to use up their vouchers and you just know they won't be arsed

If you get in quick or get lucky on older titles, otherwise no...

They'll ruin it, just like they did ASDA.
