Just saw The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel at the cinema and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend it.

Bought Ferrari Challenge with the car packs in the PSN Easter sale. Set up the G27. This could be a long night.

I found the first half quite slow, but the second half quite enjoyable.

I think I found out what that weird smell in the garage was - mouse urine. Because of limited kitchen space, our dryer is in the garage. On top of it is a large plastic box with some of my detailing gear. Other stuff has been chucked on top, like my velour car mats. My sister bought me a plastic set of drawers which would make it easier to separate out my microfibres and drying towels. I removed the old stuff off the dryer and found a load of mouse droppings. Some of my microfibres had falled down the back of the tub and smelled of urine. Frustratingly, I rediscovered my glass cleaning cloth which I'd lost. It was the best I'd ever owned and now will never be able to use it. Can't find another like it either.
Suffice to say, I've set up a trap in the garage.

FFS 3.5 hours on a motorway in heavy rain and spray. about 30% of drivers had NO LIGHTS ON AT ALL there has to be a way of making behave reasonably sensibly in really bad road conditions ..........

I hate that too. As soon as it starts raining, it's generally overcast so I stick on my headlights, irrespective of what the "autolights" feature thinks. What's almost as bad is when they stick on sidelights in the thoughts that it will make them more visible. I don't think they've ever seen their car with sidelights on.

On a motorway it's just as good as dipped for people behind them That is the only time I'll use sidelights though, other than that it's nothing/dipped (very rarely full beam)

I find the only time sidelights are useful are if the car's parked up on an unlit carriageway. For illumination, they are pants. For visibility to others, I find they make next to no difference. If it's bright and clearm they're useless. If it's dim, they're not bright enough. If it's dark, you should have your headlights on.
Foglights are another bugbear. I thought people might use them for more than just "looking cool". I drive down country lanes around work so recently tried them at night. The only thing they did was light up the kerbs immediately to the left and right of the car. They were pointless for anything else (other than fog).

I agree with you there, only used mine in REALLY bad weather (heavy snow was one of them) and it was so I could see the side of the road as well as in front, but more for the rear one to give drivers more visibility of me

They are supposed to light up the kerb! That is the whole point of them! When you are driving in fog, real fog, you can't see very far ahead, so by the time the normal beam is "reaching" the side of the road, it has hit a white wall. The fog lights should light up the side of the road and the white line in the middle of the road nearer to the vehicle than the normal lights, so that you can orientate yourself.

I understand that's what foglights do when used in fog but what I didn't realise was that they provided no extra forwwarf illumination when it's clear.

They actually reduce it as they "fill in" the area immediately in front of your car and your eyes aren't concentrating fully on the bit further ahead illuminated by the headlights.

Got home this evening to discover the power in the kitchen must have tripped out a few days ago. Everything in the fridge and freezer is ruined.
