On twitter today, someone just posted...

Make of that what you will, not 100% sure of the first part but the latter is correct if you check the list of Directors for G4S. And John Reid was in the Labour government at the time.

He was in fact the minister of the department that handed out the contract when the contract was agreed... That doesn't mean the decision was his but it certainly means he had to sign off on it.

My wife was a recruitment consultant and she had two guys go off and do all the training, then they never heard back from g4s

Oh, my. Now it looks like the head of G4S doesn’t think that they’ve done a good job. Right now, I guess humility is the answer.

But apparently not a bad enough job not to get paid, according to his answers to the select committee. One wonders just how badly they would have to have done for him to acknowledge that...
