after checking it seems to want 1000MB of storage for files, i have reset that storage to disabled/zero …

I'm still on 10.5.5 here, and I can answer a version of the app is in the Utilities folder. *shrug*

Time Machine tells me that until this update it was in a sub-folder of Utilities called Java, along with a couple of other apps—Java Web Start and Input Method Hotkey—which now seem to have disappeared.
