That's the problem, when you try and drive fast and don't look where you are going. He had ample time to reduce speed and stop. He just didn't look ahead! Coming up on a bunch of traffic like that, I'd have gone off the throttle as soon as I had seen the collection of vehicles ahead and I spotted the problem over 10 seconds before he tried to brake. I'd have gone off the gas at 30 seconds in and onto the brakes at 35. He started braking around 44 seconds!
