Hi,

I have a D-Link DSL624 in front of me, and as some of you know I had folding farm internets sharing difficulties.

Now, I'm thinking can I use the router as a switch so I can use ICS from my Vista main PC to 2 other folding computers?

Thanks! :D

I have a DLink DSL-G624T. So, you want to fold on other PCs and allow them to connect to the net for new work units?

Just plug em in, if you're using DHCP, and they should work fine. Without DHCP, you can manually assign IPs to each machine.

Is this what you meant, or am I missing something fundamental?

Regards

Spreadie

Just turn off DHCP and give it an IP address that won't conflict with anything. Basically, use the 4 switch ports and ignore the router parts.

ICS will do the DHCP and it should "just work".

Yeah, Spreadie, thats what I meant.

Thanks you two, i'll try them later. :D

EDIT: Just found out that the router has a Mini-PCI wifi card in it. If I take that out, its one less thing to worry about isn't it? :)

If you really want wireless turned off, why don't you just log into the router and turn it off in software?
