50% off what? Or am I missing Something? :?

50% off? Is that before or after the gastric band surgery?

Bloody hell, sorry, 50% off meals when eating out (except buffet-type affairs  ).

That Cyborg, the book 6 Million Dollar Man was based on, has long been out of print. I mean the amount of sequels and comics around it in book terms alone... you'd think there would be enough interest to keep it in print in some fashion. :?

The rate garages charge for draining petrol out of a tank is [LIFTED] extortionate and makes a mockery of their hourly rate.

This is the version I've got. Excellent cover artwork. The story is pretty good too, quite grim at times and less TV friendly than you'd expect.

I think that was the cheapest one I saw at about £30 IIRC for a battered copy :(

"Shiny" is a synonym for "cool" in the Firefly universe.

Perhaps if CC knew that, he would have complained less when certain toys were described thus

Quite how I missed that I don't know, although I've found myself using the word in a similar context. I guess it sublimated subliminally through social osmosis.

That the transaction dates for Amazon on my credit card bill are all a day later than order date - I'd say that's caused quite a few phone calls (I was checking online because £2.81 showed up three times in a row, which is legit as it turns out)!

The song Happy Birthday is under copyright, and it apparently costs $25k to use in a TV show or movie

If that's true, it's not difficult to see where the term originated from.

Yup, 50 litres of v-power no less in the freelander at about 70 quid. Then £190 to get it drained, then 70 quid to fill it back up with diesel. A few hours of my life and a lot of money utterly wasted. An important lesson learnt.
