There are rumours that they'll skip the s and the 6 will be out this summer.

Do you honestly believe that it will be? As far as I am concerned each has been incrementally better than the previous version even if it was only marginal.
I'm keeping my options open.
I never said it would be rubbish, I just hinted that I may or may not like it.
Nothing wrong with having options.

Very Interesting

Short version : lots of large investment houses have stock positions from which they stand to make a lot of profit (i.e. billions of dollars) if Apple's share price is below $500 on the 19th, then rises after that. And entirely coincidentally to that we see unsubstantiated rumours start to be publicised a week before that cause Apple's share price to fall significantly, to it's current level of... $486 dollars a share.

Apple's next financial announcement is in a couple of weeks (i.e... just after the 19th). That's when they will be legally required to give accurate information as to what their production levels and sales are.

As the article says 'Buy Apple shares on the 18th'.

Yes I saw something saying that the cuts might be down to better fabrication and so lower loss rates of parts chucked. It does look like someone is trying to rig the market to buy up stock cheap.

Ex-CEO John Sculley says a budget iPhone is a must

http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and ... le-1125458

How easy/difficult is it to put your iTunes music library on a Droid phone? It's one of the few things I could see holding people back, and some people wouldn't even care...

That would be the John Sculley who very nearly ran Apple into the ground (and out of existence) before Jobs came back in and turned it into one of the most profitable businesses on the planet?

Next up : Stevie Wonder gives advice on good painting technique.

I know three people who are die hard iPhone fans two of whom went 3G -> 3GS -> 4 -> 4S, and none of them have an iPhone 5. There could be a couple of reasons for it - extended mobile contracts may mean people are having to wait longer between upgrades, or simple belt tightening maybe. I haven't heard anyone suggest that it's a bad phone, or anything like that.

I think that the longer contracts might be a huge factor. My contract comes with unlimited data and is very handy, but I am tied in for two years which means if Apple is switching to a new version every six months then I will be tied in for 4 versions, which will be factor for many more people.

I know one person who went from a 3G to a 5 with nothing in between. Lack of support for the older model was one compelling reason. I doubt they'll be upgrading again for another few years!

I have to say, I think the 5 looks really nice. I've not used it though.

For me its one click.

If you've ripped it yourself, it'll probably play fine so, as Bob says, one click. if you've bought it from the iTunes music store at all recently, the same. if you bought it from the ITMS back in the day and haven't replaced it or used iTunes Match on it, more tricky.

They apparently shipped 52 million iPhones during last quarter!

Well lookee here.

http://www.macuser.co.uk/7278-whats-up- ... ne-5-sales

Quote:
Perhaps Tim Cook’s recent visit to China had been intended to rubber-stamp a deal with China Mobile, something which would have seen demand for the iPhone rise significantly. And perhaps it didn’t quite go as planned, resulting in iPhone sales which had been expected this quarter not materialising. That would mean a significant reduction in the demand for components, would it not?
