I've a decent hi-fi separates system and would like to connect our iPod Nano (6th gen) with a good quality dock, preferably with a remote control and a proper line out to the amp. At the moment it's connected via the headphone socket which results in a weak signal that unless I put it through the pre-amped phono stage, the volume has to be high to hear anything. Most of the time we are still using our rather vast CD collection, which our little one is constantly sorting... resorting...
Suggestions please, else I might invest in a Brennan or even something to stream via ethernet/wifi from our Synology NAS.
What brand is your amp? Some brands have dock addons that wire direct to the amp so the sound comes through the proper speakers and you use the amp remote to control it.

Main one is a TEAC Reference (6-7 years old) - I've had a look and they do some very funky new USB/streaming mini boxes, but nothing direct for this amp.
and it seems ok. The remote is a bit crappy but works fine.
The dock came with about 12 inserts which hold my 5th gen (i think) classic perfectly but you would have to check that your ipod has the correct insert.
Its a pretty sturdy dock and the finish is good.
Also comes with line out and a little power brick thingy.
