earlier, when trying to access x404 it was popping up with " account suspended". Any ideas what was going on?

Noticed the same thing.
I'm guessing there were some shenanigans at the hosting company.

Yeah, that was my guess, Prof. Either that or a renewed attack and the hoster/Sas threw the switch to disable the site.

There were some security issues with another account on the same server so everything was shut down for a while, if I recall correctly. Looks like the same thing happened yesterday as x404 was offline for most of yesterday.

Yup. I pulled the plug whilst I cleaned up the mess of a hack attack on one of the servers as it was redirecting the index page of the main site.
Now the fun part of rebuilding the site

I doubt very much if it was your 47 random digit password that caused the problem

Well I changed it to the maximum 30 digits. And yes it randomly generated.

It is only really a problem if you use the same password for everything. At worst for me they will only gain my email address.

Hmm. Changed my password this morning, came to log in here this evening (different PC) and it was claiming I'd made too many unsuccessful login attempts. It's possible the hackers have scraped the pages for account names and are trying to 'brute force' passwords, so I'd suggest nice secure passwords if you're changing.

Do you think it is worth the admins having a scan of the passwords to see if any have particularly weak passwords advising them to change them? My password manager has a feature for colour coding strong passwords.

They should all be hashed, nobody should be able to view any of the passwords. Mark
