http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/20 ... st-marketsThat's certainly what I'd expect to happen - it only takes a few people in your core group to stop bothering, so you don't go on it as much, or you spend a few days away...

Path is a really wonderful app. Properly mobile to as it doesn't have any website equavilent. It's much more intimate than Fb. I like it a lot.

That's the one that siphoned off the contents of everyone's contacts folder without permission, yes?

As I've mentioned in another thread tonight, Whatsapp has taken over from Facebook for a lot of my inter friend communications while I'm at work. I'm not ditching FB though as I find the events section useful. Plus it's nice to stay in touch with old friends even if I don't want them to have my phone number now.

I barely use it now and might delete my account before long. Though I do not really care about social networking anyway.

I terminated my FB account ages ago for various reasons. I found it annoying. I use G+ more than I ever used FB mainly because the people I follow are more interesting. I also use Twitter, but only because the people I follow there are not on G+. I rarely post anything though. Just a few times a year. I just haven't found any little "clubs" that compare with the forums I'm on, where I do post constantly... as you may have observed. Says 404's number two poster

Yes but I do not really regard this as conventional social networking. I do not post on G+ or Twitter or Facebook. But have not mastered G+ either.

That about sums it up for me. X404 is my social network of choice. I deleted my Facebook account back in 2009, because of the changes to the privacy policy - it has only gotten worse since then. I have Twitter and Google+, but I generally check them out once a week at most. On both, I only follow the forum members here and some tech journalists, so the information is more relevant, but I just don't have time to look in on them during the day, at work I am too busy and at home, I get about an hour a day to check up on email and X404, there isn't much time for anything else.

A long time and many versions ago. It was fixed before I even downloaded the app, and I've been using it over a year now. Mark

In which case then I must go along with Big D and say that this is my social network of choice, though it does not really feel like Facebook so that is probably why I still use it.

I think I could walk away from FaceBook if certain friends and family weren’t on there, and they are being kept their by their friends, clubs & activities. There’s the rub - FaceBook kind of chains you to itself by peer pressure. Most of my activity is on Twitter - it spills over to FB by means of having the two linked. I use Path, but all I ever seem to see on that is when people wake up, go to bed or are in Tesco, so I scratch my head about that one.

It shows what boring lives most of us actually lead. If I did twitter It would show three "going to bed" a day! If not more.

To be fair, wouldn't tweeting what you're doing be a good way for you to remember what you'd done?

Yes as long as you can access it. Though most of my day is managed by Things. It allows me to spread tasks around the week, and to do things on specific days. I have dozens of recurring tasks, from daily to annual. Doing it via twitter really adds nothing.

I've never bowed to peer pressure.
