That Tesco's 'fragrance-free' baby wipes are anything but(t)...

And that I'm totally paranoid about battery indicators - even though I'm never usually far from a socket, and when I actually do need portability that's when I'm running low

There is a known thing called 'charge anxiety' - some people get really flustered when they see a battery indicator say on their phone down to it's last sliver... First world problem of course, but nevertheless unpleasant for people who suffer from it.

How long my wife's planning to slouch on the sofa. We've got to leave for a friends wedding in 45 minutes.

That when I come to power there will be research into just what goes wrong with male eyebrows.

And I wouldn't be surprised to find it was a Tory plot - why else would you let these grow?

How deeply annoying wind-chimes are when there's a good 13mph wind up!

Next door have hung some of those tinny ones on the fence between their back garden and ours, it's very windy outside and the things just never shut up! I normally wouldn't mind a bit of a tinkle now and again but FFS with as windy as it is today have a bit of a thought for your neighbours and take the things down until it settles a bit! The only plus side I guess is that at least their dogs are no longer barking like loonies at the stupid things!

I had a zombie nightmare the other night, but it was almost a comedy.

It was set in my parent's old house and started with my girlfriend and me in the kitchen. She was hitting a very tall zombie over the head with what she described as a base-ball bat. Except the bat was really a hollow plastic toy melon, which made a "boing" sound every time it bounced harmlessly off...

Mr Zombie found it amusing.

When I woke up, I think we were hiding in the garage. There was also an attempt to go through the loft space to next-door but there were lots of zombies there, and everywhere outside.

When I used to be on nights there was a van parked outside our office, there were two hard hats on the dash and they were always positioned such that it looked like the vans occupants had crashed and were slumped inside.
Couple that with a dark walk to the depot, dark trains with odd noises (night animals, mini scree avalanches, trains cooling down), and an over active mind and you get something of a nervous wreck.

I decided to take all of this and create a story blog, telling the story of how a group of people in my area are affected by an infection that causes zombie like behaviour. It was quite good, the story slowly dwindled, and I try and pick it back up here and there.

I now no longer work regular nights, so an amount if the inspiration has been lost.

It's a shame that my rational mind is nowhere near as strong as my irrational mind! Even lying awake in the half dawn of 04:45 I still had to get up and check out the front window to make sure we didn't have a cluster of attacking zombies trying to get inside the house. Ordinarily zombie things are fine, we have a zombie apocalypse plan and his 'n' hers matching chainsaws, but for some reason sometimes the horror just takes over.

Oh, and the noise at the front door at 04:45 that made me think zombies? Our neighbours dropping a key through the letterbox on their way off on holiday for the week!

My halogen oven has started to play up, so I am trying to bake my bread in the microwave. It will be interesting to see how that turns out.

EDIT Better than I expected. In fact better than the Halogen oven.

Who would have thought that Johnny Vaughn and his missus have such good taste?
