Efficient!

Inspiration for Taylor Swift who seems to get a few songs out of her breakups.

That I may not be wheat and gluten intolerant after all.

Had a drink tonight at orchestra (cold canned drink) and now feel very queesy - run to loo type - like I used to get after eating normal bread.

The doctors thought it was probably wheat/gluten but looking on the can it lists an additive Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (E466) and a bit of checking-up reveals side-effects include what I have now so makes me wonder if it was that all along making me ill - this additive is also used in some breads thus why they thought I was wheat intolerant.

I'm tempted to find some bread at the supermarket that is definately E466 free and see what happens if I eat some.

Bloody interesting post, because I get stomach cramps (bad, bad stomach cramps) from eating Big Macs but not Quarter Pounders, so it's definitely not wheat or egg or dairy for me, because they're in both.

Wait... I've spotted it.

Also - I've had an upset stomach all day.
What did I do yesterday that I don't normally do?
Eat a big hunk of a baguette from Sainsburys.
I generally don't eat a lot of bread, so I'm wondering if that's the trigger.

Yes - I started eating pizzas from Dominos and they definately have wheat/gluten in and no side-effects.

Had this drink tonight and WHAM

This website lists all the E numbers and tells you about them - E466 gets an interesting comment! http://mbm.net.au/health/guide.htm

Bloody hell, take your pick! http://www.examiner.com/article/fast-fo ... -a-big-mac

When I say stomach cramps I mean bent double on the floor of the toilet in absolute agony every time I have a Big Mac ( I realised and gave them up in 2006), and I am totally fine with Quarter Pounders every time.

Is it just my local Domino's that makes [LIFTED] pizzas?
Everyone on here who mentions then seems to like them, but all the pizzas I've ever had from there have been terrible.

If you think the Big Mac is bad, you should what Domino's puts on their pizzas.
Although I do enjoy one of their offerings with BBQ sauce, tandoori chicken and bacon, but that's just about an annual event.

So it's not just me that thinks they're the worst pizzas on the planet then?
Good to know.

i worry that any good information that site might have gets undermined by this

In short, as described by Dr. Matthias Rath as: "an unscrupulous attempt" to implement "pharmaceutical cartel protection laws" and bolster the "spread of business with disease".

Try making some instead, bit of a roundabout way but you can essentially work by ingredient trying different flours to see what works. I did a similar thing when my dairy issues weren't too bad, seems to be a sliding scale for me from semi skimmed being the worst to double cream / ice cream being the least 'iffy' in small doses.

I always thought there was an Amazon in Australia, it's made buying a present for my cousin's birthday very difficult, even worse as it's now late thanks to my parents pc dying and not being able to get an email to send over a voucher or something

I would have to say the same. It might also be cheaper, and healthier. When you bake your own bread you can change the ingredients depending on any dietary requirements. I decided to cut the sodium and found that low sodium salt is just as good, and you could try without any salt. In addition I switched the sugar ingredient to unrefined granulated sugar and that works pretty well.

Aha, that is interesting, I am in the same situation... Although I get it with beer (1 glass) as well and German beer cannot legally have any additives.

Tests say that it isn't a gluten allergy, so I'm still trying to find out what exactly is causing the problems.

I was down to yeast or baking powder...
