Thanks all, going to be a hard week for sure, but I'll feel better once I get back there tomorrow.

Thanks for the kind words - think I'll now sign off from the internet for the week.

Three rung me up offering me a 16 Gb 3G iPad mini for £19 per month for two years with nothing up front. With new iPads being announced next month I think I made the right decision to say no.

I cannot believe how many daily reminders I have at the end of the month. Having automated my reminder system I have dozens every day but at the end of the month o get ones like decade kettle, and post electricity meter reading.

Training?
I'm being dropped in the deep end as a 'specialist'.

My little joke about being dropped in with software that you have never seen before. It would take me longer than that to train to do anything. It is more reminiscent of that joke of why do blondes get half hour lunch breaks? It would cost too much to retrain them if they took longer.

People will buy anything on ebay.

99p auction for an item (no details) I'd have been happy to part with for a tenner - it sold for around £60.

I have seen empty iPhone boxes for 64Gb versions sell for hundreds.

Yes, but that's usually down to a mix of cleverly worded descriptions and general stupidity on the part of the buyers.

People are also paying more for things than if they bought it at Amazon or another online shop. I always check at least 3 sources before buying anything to make sure I am getting a good price. Usually go to Ebay for periperals and cables.

I agree on both parts.

I had an item going for $300 and it didn't sell for three months. I got fed up and increased the price to $350 as a big FU to the lurkers hoping I would lower the price. Three people then had a $1 bidding war going on until it sold for $385.
