My sympathies are with the motor cyclists.

Well take a look at these videos taken from the motorcyclist's camera leading up to the SUV incident which shows them behaving like dickheads. My sympathies - originally for the motorcyclists - have shifted somewhat.

Plus they've acted like this back in 2011.

Still wrong to leave the scene of an accident. At the very least he should be prosecuted for hit and run.

Biker Crushed By SUV In NYC Attack Hires Celeb Lawyer Gloria Allred

Jay Mieses, the rider run over by Alexian Lien's Range Rover in Sunday's terrifying biker vs SUV incident, has hired celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred. This is about to get ugly.

NBC News reports that Mieses' family issued a statement "asking for privacy" when they hired Allred, which is a complete contradiction, as anyone who is familiar with Gloria Allred knows.

Allred is "the perfect storm of opportunism, fame-whoring, and rudeness" as my colleagues at Jezebel put it. She is known for extremely high-profile sexual harassment cases and for being a dick.

Mieses, 33, remains hospitalized after being run over by Lien's Range Rover when Lien was swarmed by dozens of motorcycle riders trying to shut down the West Side Highway at the end of last weekend. Lien was eventually pulled from his car and beaten, while Mieses has two broken legs and a crushed spine, as NBC News reports. Mieses' wife claims the injuries mean permanent paralysis.

"There's no hope for his back. They broke it in two different places, so he will be forever, forever paralyzed."
The New York Post has a picture of Mieses just after being run over, and Mieses' Facebook support group states that he has opened his eyes and may be coming out of his medically-induced coma. The media storm surrounding this case, though, is far from over.

There is a break in the chain though, it would be inaccurate to say that he is fleeing the scene of an accident simply in order to avoid being caught; He is fleeing for the safety of himself and his family, his instincts are telling him, quite accurately, that he is surrounded in vast numbers by stronger aggressive males and he's just done something to piss them off. It is a desperate situation, he is probably cold with dread, the essence of panic.

Now, analyse the mindset of the man in that situation and say that he should be prosecuted for his behaviour and that he caused it. That would be unfair. I think the best course of action would be to ban the event, as NYC have done, and learn the lessons of this terrible situation with no criminal prosecutions.

Although the camerman waving his arm in the air and pointing to the car in an effort to stir up trouble (while backing the [LIFTED] off himself) is a coward and a bully, I bet he wouldn't have felt too good if he had successfully incited murder. All very exciting until you come to the end of the chase and you then have to cause grievous bodily harm to someone to give your actions meaning.

It ceased being an angry spur of the moment thing and quickly descended into calculated intimidation and assault.

I have zero sympathy for the bikers. Bunch of intimidatory twats.

Have Channel 5 completely given up at the weekend or what? They seem to just show cheap 80's films..
