I've been awake, and I mean wide awake, since 12:39 and I feel as rough as toast. Symptoms include : Pain. Everywhere. I mean literally everywhere. I was tempted to write "in bed, in the kitchen, in the bathroom, etc " but since I feel so rough I won't. I was violently unwell earlier, which wasn't as much fun as it may sound.

I should elaborate by saying that all of my joints are painful, especially my shoulders and my lower back feels like I've been repeatedly stamped on.

I am going from feeling freezing whilst sweating buckets to feeling like I am on fire while shivering very enthusiastically.

Am now downstairs and about to drink a decaf which I think proves that I am seriously unwell.

Think a trip to the doctors is in order.

I had those symptoms with food poisoning. I could not even drink coffee. Get well soon.
Brilliant post! *laugh*
Now we just need someone to tell him that they had a relative who had these symptoms shortly before they died!
Brilliant post, man. *laugh*

Shocker! (I realise your tolerance for sarcasm may be low at the moment.)
You could either get yourself out of bed tomorrow and drag yourself to the doctor or just spend the day in bed with lots of fluids and see how you are afterwards, but I suspect the doctor (note, NOT The Doctor) may be your best bet.

Mark

No, there's nothing wrong with my tolerance for sarcasm meter. They open at 08:00 so I'll take a walk over shortly.

Also, thanks guys. Your replies did make me lol.

Sounds like flu and it does make you feel horrendous. It can cause or exacerbate musculoskeletal pains. It can also kill (though generally only those who are very young, very old, or immunocompromised).

Agree for fluids, analgesia and rest.

The doctor said it looks like a viral infection. I've spent all day sleeping and have just woken up still feeling rough. I may be contagious and have pretty much convinced myself that I should take a few days of work to avoid giving all of my colleagues, or more importantly, my students the lurgey.

Can't sleep and am not sure why. Been hitting 8-9 hrs sleep per night recently.

Reading up in the guardian on how to eat biscuits and lamenting the loss of plastic lids for smarties tubes.

People need to be told how to eat biscuits? We're doomed as a species.

I've been awake since 0700. This evening I drove to London for a meal with friends. Finished about 2230 and drove back. Wide a-freakin-wake at the mo.
