It is, but I doubt that it will be immediate. Banks already assess peoples ability to pay based on much higher rates already. Apparently it is something like 5%. It is those that already have a mortgage and are struggling that will be impacted first.
I think rates will be low for a long time. It will be an external shock that will kickstart the rise in rates.
