Early concept designs for the Millennium Falcon. I think that the second model down is the design that was rejected by Lucas because of its similarity to Space:1999's Eagle Transporter. At least they saved the cockpit.

I'm particularly fond of Valley Forge from Silent Running, and then subsequent appearances in BSG.
