I watched it the other night. Definitely not another teen movie but then I knew it was something different. I really enjoyed it. Agreed James Franco was brilliant and reminded me of Gary Oldman's Drexl in True Romance. I was laughing at all the 1/10 reviews and imagining the teenie boppers getting a shock when they went to see it expecting another Hannah Montana movie or similar If you liked Sucker Punch you'll probably like this (looks at timark)

Clerks - Not as funny as I remember it The Green Hornet - With no pun intended I was going to ask who greenlit it, but that's actually a better joke than any the film has from what I saw, couldn't even finish it (two hours long, zilch to recommend).

I never watched the original series nor read the comics but it was like they were trying to parody themselves and failed. But I still enjoyed it more than Green Lantern. Truth be told, I think I liked GH over MoS.

Dallas Buyers Club - a good film, not grounded in the same sentimentality as Philadelphia, it's grittier, funnier, a film that won't wow you with entertainment, a film for people who like characters, an old-fashioned film in many ways, a real screen play, the cinematography, the music, the scenery all take a back seat, it's the characters and their dialogue that hold this film together. It's therefore disappointing that it relies on the general public's distrust of the government and science to create drama, it's accepted a little too readily that the central character "becomes" a good guy only interested in saving people as soon as he has AIDs.
Therefore, I would have liked a more mature, more cynical depiction of the characters in this true story, however for what it was it was a refreshing piece of old-fashioned cinema.

Lone Survivor - could have cried at the end had I not been out in public with the wife. Well worth a watch.

Poseidon (remake) - Nothing about this film works, and especially not the CGI it hinges on. Yes, it's yet another film shot in darkness, apparently so you don't need shades when the Mac Pro has to do it's thing... Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas is in it ffs.

Just watched Django. Wished I'd watched it at the cinema. It was awesome. The main criticism I had was its running length - far too long and could easily have been trimmed down.

Yeah, it's good but for such a simplistic film overall it either should have given more backstory or lopped an hour off. ION, Game of Death starring Wesley Snipes is as bad as you'd imagine; nobody in it talks like normal people do and the director seems to try to hide this with every camera trick he's ever learned.

Just saw a few minutes of Strippers Vs Werewolves on SyFy. Unwatchable crap.
