Don't tell me this doesn't make you want to watch it again. Classic.

Look out for the movie offering of Odd Thomas. Another one I'm excited about and one of my favourite books.

Stash House - Awful. You want to punch the actors and all it seems to be is a series of slightly better films remixed into this turd (Panic Room, the camera elements of Paranormal Activity). It's as subtle as a kick to the face, the exposition in the first 15 minutes alone is hilarious.

Superman: Unbound - Not great considering DC animated movies are usually pretty good (actually it's always the Supes titles that are the weakest now I think of it). Even individual scenes are lacking pace and editing, not helped by the fact it's based on one of the more recent comics. It would probably seem bizarre and boring to anyone who didn't know their Superman lore too.

Robocop - it has all the right elements for the most part but it's undercooked. Apart from the action scenes which are great but too few, the whole film just goes at a thriller's pace rather than an action film. It just feels sterile, and the reason for this to my mind is it tries to keep the corruption seam running through the original but forgets that the Boddicker gang was what really brought the humour and action to it.
I'd watch it again if only because there was a kid beside me who couldn't have been any more than eight years old and kept offering me popcorn. I mean he seemed a nice kid but he couldn't keep still, he went and got even more popcorn, and then a booster seat so he could see over the chair in front. No joke. I think if I ever see a 12A again I'll get there early and sit right at the back.

The Lego Movie.
Okay, it's a kids film and I assume that children will indeed derive much enjoyment from it. However, if, as a child, you played with Lego and especially if you did so before they went a bit nuts with kits for everything then this is a fantastic film. I genuinely LOL'd at several points.
Watched in 2D. I'm sure as an animated film the 3D version would work quite well but it doesn't need it IMHO.
In summary, worth a watch if you played with Lego as a kid (or as a big kid).

Elite Squad - Bored the arse of me, the critics who raved about this must have been as corrupt as the cops in the film. Way too much padding and not enough character during it.

Blitzed some films in the last couple of weeks
The Sessions - loved it!
Mary and Max - not a new film, found it by accident. Will make you laught and cry
Big Night - again an old film which just happens to be on Sky at the moment. By Stanley Tucci because he couldn't find any good roles for himself at the time. Quite good
Down The Shore - the first film James Gandolfini did after The Sopranos ended but it wasn't releaed until a few years later
Rock of Ages - wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Tom Cruise was actually quite good in it and I can't stand him
About Time - great. A must see for any Rachel McAdams fans and not predictable
Robot & Frank - recommended by the rocking dude. Enjoyed it
Despicable Me 2 - fantastic. Loved it!
Enough Said - another offering from James Gandolfini and very watchable with the lady from Seinfeld
The Paperboy - was OK. Rated this a 7. Wasn't what I was expecting and John Cusack and Nicole Kidman are very naughty in it.

I am currently "forcing" myself to watch films in the IMDB Top 250 that I haven't watched.. by forcing I mean I have long since seen all the easily-accessible, instantly entertaining films, and now I'm watching the slow, difficult films that border on being boring for the first 20 minutes until you get in to the characters. Well, I've watched two such films so far, and I certainly haven't been disappointed. Two very good (if sad) films: Grave of the Fireflies 9/10 (one of the few Ghibli films I never got round to watching, tried to twice but wasn't in the right mood, worth persevering) Life is Beautiful 7/10
