Got one last night, and once my number is ported from Orange to Vodafone I'll be able to give a more insightful review, but first impressions are it's a nice bit of kit. And bloody massive! Update: I've tested the music and video playback and it is brilliant. I use the word brilliant advisedly. 1080p video playback is flawless, even in fast paced action scenes. The sound, as you'd probably expect from the makers of the Walkman is also excellent, although the headphone lead is a weedy little thing which I don't expect to last for long. I did try it with my Sennheiser HD 205s and they sound good. A little too much treble, perhaps, but that can be adjusted when I get a minute. I also tried temple Run, (couldn't resist!) and that was... OK. I think it might be the "new phone" thing, but I kept catching the home button. I'm sure I'll get used to it. I think that's it for now. More to follow...

Ok, so I've had this phone a few days now and can honestly say that I haven't found anything I don't like about it.
I adjusted the sound settings and that's now great and have now stopped hitting the bottom button although I am still rubbish at temple run!
I do need, or perhaps want would be a better word, a cable to connect a ps3 connector to the phone as this looks like it will be a brilliant games player.
Sound quality during calls is good with none of the echo or muffling I've read about being present.
I can't think of anything else at the moment but I'm sure something will spring to mind at which point I'll tell you all about it.
By the way, if you get this phone make sure you buy a case. Unless you like being constantly paranoid about breaking your new shiny.!

So, I've been using this for a few weeks now and I've not changed my mind. Cold hard facts: It's an Android phone with a massive screen. That's it, really. It looks amazing and it's not lagged on anything I've tried, including Fifa 14, (I really must get the USB-OTG cable so I can hook up the PS3 controller) it sounds good and editing spreadsheets and word documents is a breeze.
The battery life is OK as well. I charge it every other day, unless I play games/watch videos in which case it's a nightly charge.
Nothing else to say really, unless anyone has any questions/opinions/anything else to break the monologue!

I've finally remembered the something that I don't like about the phone! The usb port is situated on the top left of the handset which means that I can only charge it when the car cover is open, leaving the screen exposed. It's not a big deal but it's nice to have a balanced opinion lol

Now running Android 4.3
The only difference I see is the new predictive dialler, but it does generally feel a bit nippier than before.

Android 4.3 is the first version to support TRIM, so it should stay nice and fast over a longer period of time.

If truth be told, I'd not noticed it slowing down before the upgrade. This may be because I tend to turn it off and on again every couple of days, anyway, but it seems fine.
I did notice some slowdown on the Galaxy Note N7000 if it was left on for a few days, but since that was running an older version of Android, I'm not really surprised.

The upgrade to Android KitKat has just been installed... first impressions are positive, but I'll need to monitor it for a few days before I can say for sure.

KitKat made a huge difference on my Galaxy S3. I put Cyanogen on it, because the standard Samsung 4.2 version was getting too slow - it would take up to 10 seconds to go from the mail app to the home screen. With 4.3 Google introduced the Trim function, which means the SSD shouldn't slow down. So far it has been much better.
I still prefer my new Nokia Lumina 1020, but the Galaxy was given a new lease of life.

The Lumia is a great phone, no doubt about it, but I have to base my phone choice on current needs. At the moment, the main thing is a big screen to read ebooks, mainly work related stuff. I don't want a tablet so this is ideal.

Yeah, I looked at the Lumina 1520, but it was just too big for me, each to his own.
