I love the close contact. She's really brought me out of my shell in some respects. I just don't feel I could ever fully relax in public.

When I'm out in public with my significant other I don't even notice there's other people around. Immerse yourself in each other and enjoy yourself. As long as you're both happy does it matter what Joe Public thinks? If anything they'll just see a couple in love and ignore you.

I'm similar to you CW, I don't mind holding hands, the odd kiss or spontaneous hug but anything that qualifies as "making out" is definitely for private! I am not insecure enough to need to advertise that I'm in a happy relationship to everyone at Costa and I think anything that would make me uncomfortable to watch someone else do, is very definitely for just the two of us. Luckily Red is the same way so the subject has never come up.
If you think she's on to you about the proposing then I advise not waiting too long if you are definitely going to, anticipation and nervousness turn even the most normal person into a monster and if she gets any mixed signals from you about it she may be over-compensating with the added lovey-dovey stuff to ensure you're in no doubt about how she feels.
Oh, and good luck!

Without quoting the whole post, thanks. I don't know whether she's on to me or not but I do wonder whether she knows. I've not told anyone and we haven't really been looking at rings. Maybe I'm reading too much into it? Definitely don't wanna wait too long but I feel like we're meant to be together. I've even started keeping a diary of sorts on my phone so I can reflect on our moments together. The only time I've ever done that before was when I was a PFY with a huge crush on this cute girl who was one of my friend's sisters. That was around 15 years ago.

Possibly but certainly not within the past two weeks. Beyond that I really can't remember. If anything it would have been a vague chat about our future, including children. At one point she wanted lots of boys, enough for a football team and she's not into football. She might just have been broody.

Talk to her about the future, how things are etc Relationships go through stages where you go through the falling in love stage again and you get all touchy again. Communication is the key to any relationship

Will have a chat with her early next week when she's finished her set of long day shifts.

I've always loved the idea of the traditional romantic proposal at a restaurant, so in the (near) future, yes. At the mo, just need to have a chat and I know she won't be up for meeting and chatting about this when she's tired after a long-day shift at work.

I dropped on my knee in a garden of the equivalent of a stately home.
