This weekend I've finally got around to setting up my Magicolor 2550 laser printer (about £370 when I bought it). It works very well. It's also been sat under a desk unused for seven years since I first unpacked it. At the time I had a small inkjet printer that I thought I was going to replace but I kept using until it recently died.

Is this a record? :)

I've certainly owned printers that were used only once or twice!

It's ridiculous that I can buy a brand new, better, smaller and faster, pre-filled printer every few years cheaper than buying a full set of ink for the current one!

The manufacturers got wise that one a long time ago - new printers do not come with full capacity ink cartridges.
