Now You See Me - It uses it's own theme; this is one big distraction to hide the fact it's barely a movie. It's a collection of scenes with recognisable actors and that's your lot.

Is that the Vegas magicians film with Jessee Eisenberg in it?

That's the one. An episode of Hustle would be worth more of your time.

Actually, Hustle did cross my mind when I was watching this film!

Cold Comes The Night - It's a cheap but well made thriller, the problem is there's no plot, what you're watching in the moment is as good as it gets.

Superman Vs. The Elite - I don't think any department of DC/WB has a clue what's happening with their films, even the animated ones. The last few Superman ones have been especially bad/weird. Crap animation and weird scripts; this one has swearing which is infrequent enough to be really jarring. Superman mentioning his fantasies. And the British accents...

There's some clever ideas in it, but the edge is taken off those by the bad ones.

Is Wolf Creek even worth watching, never mind paying £1.27 for it? :?

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - It's just OK. There's a lot of drama and it works and is important (scene to scene it's good), but it all just goes on too long. Part of the problem is you can see where it's all going; if it had just been a little shorter you'd have been more invested. It also doesn't really advance the overall story the way the trailers might have you believe.

It's worth a watch, but maybe wait for the home release, cos the novelty of the apes learning is gone now and this feels a little like a bridge film to introduce new human characters for the sequel.

I did figure it'd be a step towards a complete "planet of the apes" and the humans land in the third one. Or something.

Aw, I was going to see it, hoping for "Take your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape!". :(

Unfortunately a step is all it amounts to considering the set-up of the trailers and the film itself.

All Is Lost

This must be one of the shortest scripts since they introduced talkies. However despite the absence of dialogue it was a very engrossing if not uplifting film, a plodding journey into a bottomless pit of despair, each miserable step dealt with in a useless but logical, calm and matter of factly manner.

:D
