Is "Slave" Leia Merchandise Being Retired? - The Toyark - News http://news.toyark.com/2015/11/03/is-sl ... red-181692Be interesting to see if that's true. It's some FAIL if it is.

It's an odd time for this to be happening. With the new film knocking on the door, the chances of merchandise people concentrating on the original trilogy of films for marketing/money-making material is pretty bloody slim, I suspect. Mark

This post contains spoilers for the trailer for those that haven't seen it. Repeat, this post contains spoilers.
How the hell does Kylo Ren know where to get Vaders helmet? Luke burned it at the end of Return of the Jedi, so how did it survive that? Also, as the helmet is at least a three-piece, how it it all being held together?
Stupid trailer playing stupid Jedi mind tricks on me.

Sorry, I'm only seeing this now. I get what you're saying (it's really the only reasonable explanation for the lack of Luke in pretty much all promo material thus far), but there's still issues that bother me. Also, the whole 'Kylo is Luke' thing, that's a subversion that I don't think everyone will be ready for - if it turns out to be true. Mark

Well, think back to Empire. Yoda signals it pretty clearly when he asks Luke not to leave, because his training was incomplete and he was putting himself at risk of turning to the dark side. But Luke just ups and leaves.

Like Vader being Luke's father wasn't a major surprise. We'll all find out next month.

Surprise, yes, but there was no subversion going on there. Vader was the bad guy, Luke was the good guy. That's how it was set out from the start, we never saw Vader as a good guy before the reveal of fatherhood to Luke. This time around, we have had three very well recieved films with established characters of good (Luke, Leia and Han - among others), so to subvert that now by Luke becoming the big bad of The Force Awakens is a quite remarkable thing, in terms of character. If Luke is indeed Kylo, it's going to be interesting finding out how that happened - if we ever do find out. Mark
