What's his favourite shade of red?

Minor spoilers follow

The colour used on the arm of a certain droid, but also on some storm troopers shoulders, the jacket that Fin got, lighting, Kylon Ren's light sabre.

He also used it for red matter in Star Trek, also the first in Star Trek Into Darkness. JJ also slips that bloke from Heroes in (he was the couch of Kirk's abusive uncle in Star Trek - they did film scenes with him too, but they didn't make it to the cut). He also likes to slip the name Kelvin in - did we see that anywhere?

Edit: yes he did. http://www.blastr.com/2015-12-18/jj-abr ... ce-awakens

I'm glad that he managed to make it a Star Wars film without imposing his style too much

It did look like a proper Star Wars film - scruffy, grubby, and tatty, but with a large scale. It probably looked bigger and more realistic than the originals, but that's modern film making. Oh, there was a little bit of lens flare in places.

And we can finally connect Star Wars and Dad's Army. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daisy_Ridley

‘Star Wars,’ if it were directed by Ken Burns

Just on the news that Force Awakened has set a new record for the shortest time to earn $1billion in ticket sales.

at the current ratios we are almost guaranteed another death star, star killer base or otherwise gigantic megastructure being destroyed by a comparatively miniscule fleet of rebel spacecraft taking advantage of an unforseen and massively overlooked imbecilic and critical fatal design flaw in the aforementioned constructions.

getting a little repetitive if you ask me.

Yeah, 12 days beats the previous record of 13 days set by Jurassic World earlier this year.

And it doesn't take them that long either. TFA seemed in places to mirror (or be inspired by) quite a few scenes or events from the original trilogy.

It's frankly amazing that the Empire managed to dominate the galaxy at all.
Chronic design flaws in their ships/space stations, Storm Troopers who don't appear to have much training in hitting what they are shooting at.
And, you know, being laid low by a bunch of frikin' teddy bears is a bit of a worry as well.

Haven't seen TFA yet but I'm looking forward to it. :D

I never saw the logic behind war machines that basically walk and have knees. So easily brought down, and clearly have unstable power plants that easily overload when not level.

I went to the 10:30 showing at the Belle Vue cinema, in Manchester and there were a total of seven people in that particular showing. I'm not suggesting that you drive all the way down to Manchester, but I wouldn't be surprised if your local picture house is similar.
