Every day in work a guy is asking if our team is gonna be moved somewhere, to the point where the team and our boss are starting to believe we will be. Fcuking marvellous when just the other day the boss said it was likely we'd be staying at least for a while, if not indefinitely.
So at this point our boss is not likely to put up much of a fight if his boss has a dumb idea. And now we've got months of wondering what's going to happen that won't achieve anything but people getting sick with worry. I'm losing the rag with cnuts that need to create drama for their own excitement.

Staples. I hardly ever go in there these days because: - I'm no longer at school or university
- Their stuff never appeared to be as good as WHSmiths.
- I can buy things online these days
I admit Staples can be useful when in a bind. I have used them before for envelopes, card and paper in various sizes. But most recently, I needed inkjet cartridges. I had a look online and against Argos, John Lewis and PC World, Staples were the cheapest for all the cartridges I needed. What I didn't realise is that unlike those other stores, Staples' online price was different to their in-store price. An ink cartridge for £9 was priced at £13 instore. That was much higher than the other shops where I could buy for the same price online or in store. Further compounding the stupidity, I could order online from the Staples website and collect from in-store for £9 for each cartridge. I ended up getting p***ed off and used Amazon Prime for next day delivery.

Arrived in London yesterday afternoon, for a weeks break and earlier on today, the wife had her purse lifted. Her £130 (approx) purse, which had about £350 cash in it.
Just [LIFTED] great.

Yeah, I remember a family trip to Blackpool where my sister's purse theft put a strain on things. All I can advise is contact the police if you think that's worthwhile (CCTV etc), but either way, do as much as you can as quickly as you can, then write it off in your head. Might as well enjoy the break for as long as possible.

Sorry to hear that JV. Hope it doesn't put too much of a downer on the rest of your holiday.

Just s bit pissed of about the whole thing. I called 101 and they're going to call me back tomorrow. I'd imagine that we'll get a crime number and will have to claim it on the wife's bank insurance.

I'm trying to cover for a colleague on holiday in every sense and there's no redemption for them... so I'm gonna have to tell them their role's been taken away on their return.

That's a real kicker. And makes me concerned especially since I'm heading to London later this week with swmbo to sight-see. Any ideas on how it happened?

So I’m setting up a section for the car club web site. I’m thinking of it as the “Missing Haynes Manual”. I’m using an install of MediaWiki and everything is lovely. It will work, and it’s the best thing to use for this kind of thing.
So I create new users - one for each member of the committee - and it sends out new user emails with links to create new passwords.
I also create a dummy user with no editing rights so that we know what the site will look like for regular users (actually, I feel that I’ll be revising the log in part for non admins, so this may be redundant, but anyway). I separate email was sent detailing what I was doing, what was going on and what the accounts were for, as well as a bit about how to
One emailed me a couple of weeks ago. He logged in with the dummy account, but can’t edit the site. I replied telling him that he should have had an email with a link and a password for himself, and to use that.
I get a very similar email today with the same problem, complete with a screen shot in a Word document.
So I told him, again, what the differences were, what his user name is, and how to reset the password (just in case). I also said that he needn’t put a screen shot in a Word file - just the .png or .jpeg would be fine.
I start to worry about this. Apart from one other, I’m dealing with people who know a lot about cars, but seem to have very little contact with modern technology. I’m the opposite. I’m not technically minded when it comes to cars, and really,. it’s not my job to organise or wrangle car technical stuff anyway. The very reason for using something online to handle this is so that others can add content themselves. Right now, I’m seeing that there is a big problem here - this technical site is supposed to be up and running soon, and I’ve done what I see as my bit for the effort. There seems to be little content being created by the people who are supposed to be the technical experts and who should be.
It’s just the total inability to follow instructions that is driving me mad today.

No idea how it happened. All three of us were holding the bag at some stage and trafalgar square was really busy. Only thing i can think it's that some a thieving [LIFTED] must have gone for a lucky dip and gotten... Well... Lucky!

Having lived in London for 6 years now, I'd say, keep valuables where you can see them ( not in a backpack or back pocket) and don't flash them unnecessarily in public. And be a bit more aware of surroundings in crowds. I have a cross body handbags that I keep in front of me when walking around.

I usually carry wallet etc. in a zipped, inside pocket, where I can, when I am in a big city.

Sony have just required me to log into my PSN account so they can ask me if I'd like to have my privacy invaded or make it easier to have my privacy invaded while signing the latest agreement nobody ever reads. You know, the sort of account nobody remembers their password for, since they had to change it after the cumstains got hacked. I sent a password reminder to Gmail who of course won't let me log in to that particular email account (set up purely because Sony are remarkably thick), because that would just be far too sensible after you've correctly answered all their fcuking questions. In the end I luckily guessed the PSN password, otherwise I would have spent hours contacting various [LIFTED] from both Google and Sony, likely. Oh, and this apparently isn't even the software update that Sony has in the works. This is just you agreeing to a pile of utter [LIFTED] so you can use the system that cost hundreds of pounds after much swearing

[LIFTED] Moonpig! I paid for special delivery with a guaranteed delivery date of the 18th. I get an email (late) on the 18th saying 'Your card has been dispatched, with delivery guaranteed the next working day' ie the [LIFTED] 19th! Morons! If my wife doesn't get that card on our 10th anniversary they're going to get such a bollocking! It was supposed to arrive the day before, but I wanted it there for her to open on the day. Now it won't be.

Having to chop and change breakdown cover. Last year, RAC wanted c. £300 for renewal. I cancelled and changed to AA for £175 (+£75 fuel card so effectively £100). This year, renewal was c. £300. Rang up to cancel and eventually they offered £145 (equivalent RAC was £135). I have used breakdown cover once in the last ten years of driving and that was down to an issue that was fixed under warranty on a new car.
