Hi all,
As some of you may be aware, I have been working on a Space Invaders inspired game, which is known as Codename: NASIRO.
Nasiro, by the way, is an in-joke, with myself. It is an acronym, and stands for "Not A Space invaders Rip Off."
At the moment, I am developing it for the Windows Desktop, but I may well make it for the mobile platforms.
Does anyone here fancy having a play, I mean doing some beta-testing?
If you're up for some old school Space Invaders style fun, give me a shout and I'll send over a link to the Dev-Build.
Thanks for reading,
John.

I have also been developing an android version, which will probably come out after the Windows version and before the iPhone / iPad version.
I don't see why it wouldn't work on Windows XP, but I haven't tested it. Aside from the NHS and maybe the police does anyone run Windows XP anymore?

I can think of a few machines still on XP at work. I think they've managed to phase out the Win95 ones but I'm not 100% sure

An XP machine shouldn't be connected to a network, let alone the internet any more.
I'd give it a punt. Have you had a look at Centennial Bridging your game? Then you can offer it as a Store game as well for little or no effort.

Agree about the XP machines not being connected to anything sentiment. I have no idea what Centennial Bridging is, but I am using Unity3D and it is very easy to make this a Windows Store package. I am making this for the Windows Desktop because it's a lot easier to get test builds out to, erm... testers. I am trying to keep this a closed Beta, so if anyone wants to have a play please drop me a PM and I'll send a link.

Rather than sending a PM to everyone who has asked for a link, I'll post this request here. Could you also let me know what you think of the game, in general. I'm just looking for opinions on things like the look and feel of the menu, the ships, etc, and also the sound. Please note that there is no "surprise alien" at the top and this will not be implemented, as I think it would be too close to Space Invaders, and I don't want any lawyers on my back!

Yep, no problem, bratty. The more honest the better. I've just finished a new build, but have had to shut down the pc for the night, as I am mentally and physically exhausted, but I'll I upload it tomorrow and pm you a link. Thanks!

works just fine on XP, not a bad game so far but the controls to move are a little slidy/slippery, its like being on ice so no precision movement can be utilised or is this intentional?

Thanks for the feedback. Are you using the latest version? I think it's build 6, and I had done some to on the player ship movement.

OK, I'm waiting for the pc to finish a Windows update but I'll look at the controls again.
