Random fact: I registered to vote as British and was not asked for proof. They also don’t ask for proof on the day of the vote. I wonder how much fraud occurs?

I've been following that whole Death Star vs. Borg Cube debate on that Fb page. I'm quite happy with the Borg laying waste to the Empire.

Asus, you got so close to making the perfect phone, then you ruined it by giving it a low resolution screen. The ZenPhone 4 Max would be perfect if it had a 1080 display.

Axe throwing. Tried this in Vegas, on a whim, and so glad we did! Seriously good fun, or training for the inevitable zombie apocalypse? Either way, definitely worth a go. BBC News linkIf you haven't tried it yet, searching for "Axe throwing UK" without the quotes, will give you more information.

Surely the Borg would assimilate people or equipment with knowledge/data on the Death Star before they came into contact with it. Thus they would already know it's weaknesses.

Before I left for work this morning I was drilling holes in potatoes. I think that qualifies for the Random $h!t Thread!

For why were you drilling holes in potatoes. I mean, if it was for the sheer joy of drill holes in potatoes then that would be a rather random pastime.

I don't actually understand why, but the kids had to use a potato as some kind of basis for a character in a book to take to school. Maybe an alternative to World Book Day dressing up? So they made a caterpillar - a hungry one - out of Fimo and I drilled some potatoes to pop them in.

I heard a report on the news last night, currently the death toll from the current wave of flu is 350 people in Germany!

Yup - the difference between a cold and flu is the latter may kill you, whilst the former just makes you feel unwell. I knew someone who was in his 20s who died as a result of adult respiratory distress syndrome following a bout of flu. Despite this, I still have patients who think a slight sniffle is a cold and anything more must be flu (and hence must need antibiotics).

Was on the train this morning and the man next to me was spending a very very long time perving at a girl in a bikini on Instagram. Really perving as in zooming in etc. It's amazing what people now think is acceptable to do in public...
