Just a thought...

In the last place I worked, all of our equipment had to be safety tested by a qualified electrician before it could be connected to the mains power supply. Would you simply be allowed connect your computer? What if it wasn't wired up correctly and you electrocuted yourself? They may be somewhat responsible if they allowed you to connect equipment.

I wonder if his interview is going to go well when he turns up lugging a full blown computer on a sack barrow into the interview room! The other applicants will probably all turn up with laptops and look far more professional and get the job.

A lot of places require you to submit electrical equipment to them for testing though. For example, a lot of universities even require students to submit laptop chargers for testing before they can use the university power supply.
