It will be perfect for the world cup, also Wimbledon and snooker. In fact we use it regulrly, especially on ITV becuse it changes it to HD 8-) .

This is true, I forgot about that.

I use it to annoy the wife  She doesn't use or understand it and I just explain it's a man thing :D :D

It's a bit slow though...

The Red Button on Virgin Media is so slow, that it’s hardly worth using. If I press it, I get a “Loading” message, 5 minutes later, I may get something worth looking at. BBC iPlayer on it is rubbish.

So I use the PS3 for iPlayer, and avoid the red button as much as possible.

My grandma uses iPlayer on her TV.

But I'd never press the red button if it came up during a program. In fact iPlayer is the only TV service I would use.

How's the quality of it? I've got such a rubbish internet connection, I can't use it, which is a pain as it's such a cool feature.

What I do is pause it for a bit at the very start, which presumably allows it to buffer somewhat :? , then it usually carries on as normal once you un-pause...

I also run it off an ethernet cable - I seriously doubt my wi-fi would be up to it

I don't use it but I have a habit of accidentally pressing it on my remote control when I try and press "guide" in the dark lol.

Compro S350
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Compro-V ... pture-Card

It only has a single tuner, but as it has input/output you could have multiple cards as each one has an output dvb-s so you could daisy chain the cables from a single LNB

I have been watching some BBC HD today on it, not tried ITV HD but it looks nice on 720p on a cheap tv, better than the standard def programming

We don't have a TV, so therefore don't have a red button, my brother uses it quite a lot for keeping up with foopball scores while watching the news (or vicky verky) and my mum uses it to get to the iplayer, but that's about the only experience I have of it.
