House prices must drop when a terrorist moves into the neighbourhood though.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Unconfirmed report of a burial at sea. Probably a good idea to prevent access to his body from either side but it would have been appropriate to put him head first in a vertical hole with his arse facing mecca. Don't think that would have gone down to well with his supporters though.

A burial at sea means that there is no place for shrine to be built, which is probably a good thing.

People keep saying that the burial at sea was to prevent any shrine being erected.

Am I the only one who suspects that no country would allow his entry and so the sea was the only place left?

I keep hearing on the BBC radio news that a sea burial is traditional.
Seems odd for a mainly desert nation, no?

I think the "burial" is meant to be within 24 hours. I think the sea thing is to stop shrine building. I've also heard nobody wanted the remains.

DNA tests already confirming that it was OBL.
That was a bloody quick turnaround, I would have expected a few days at least. They must have sent it to a CSI lab in Vegas, Miami or NYC. ;)

Apparently, they had a DNA sample from Bin Laden's sister, who died in the US. Not quite sure how they obtained that but anyway. If all you care is 'is this person related to that person' it's a pretty straightforward test - you could practically do it in situ. You could certainly do it in the medical centre in a modern warship. If he looked like Osama (I think 6'5" tall arabian men are fairly rare, for example) and the DNA match says he's related to Osama's sister, either he has a really unlucky twin brother or they got the right bloke.

Osama probably wasn't 6'5".

I think you can probably knock 8 inches off that estimate.

I was under the impression that a test took 3-4 days and couldn't find anything else to suggest otherwise when i looked earlier. However I've just found this article that suggests results within an hour. 8-)

What a shame Bin Laden didn't have a long, slow and painful death - if anyone deserved it, he did. I do hope Satan's sticking red hot pokers up his @rse right now!

In the meantime, I'm sure Al Qaeda have plenty of eager people to step up and fill the gap left by this evil tw@t. Sadly, I fear this is just the beginning. World War III here we come.

Well, he's been declared a martyr by some, so he'll be enjoying his 77 virgins right now.

However, if some Koran academics are to be believed, the word "virgin" is a mis-translation, and it's likely to be "raisins" instead. So he may just have been lobbed an Eccles Cake by Allah.

The inestimable Danny Baker observed this morning Osama will be in trouble when he gets to hell and the actual Great Satan gets hold of him, given Osama compared him to George Bush.

Well, any ladies who are still virgin by the time they get to heaven for you to meet them are probably horrifically ugly, died very young, or aren't interested in sex.

To be honest, I think I'd probably rather have the raisins. :?

I seem to be the only person in the west who isn't celebrating.

The president of the USA allows his countrymen to violate a moslem country's sovereignty, storm a private house, martyr and then celebrate the death of the powerless figurehead of an organisation that recruits malcontents based on the perceived persecution of Islam by the West.

It's like killing Bruce Forsyth in an attempt to secure the demise of Strictly Come Dancing. That's some right proper genius that is
