it seems the average gamer (although still male ) is 30.
I can remember PCformat saying in one of their surveys that their average reader was 35.
So it still makes me an older gamer :(

Depending on what kind of games you're looking at, then cost must be a large factor. If I wanted to, I could now afford to spend £35 on a game a few times a year. I happen to choose to spend it on other things (whisky ahem), but my point being that when I was 17 or in my early 20s I didn't have anything like that kind of money!

I'm 30 and I'm a gamer.

On the BbC news was an 80+ year old lady who was playing games on her ps3.

Well In which case I am a 13 stepper. Still play games, yes it keeps the brain going. I do strategy games and so take my time playing but think through tactics. Also you can probably get the heart rate going a bit with some of the shooters and adrenaline gets a boost.
